I’ll be honest, Instagram is one of my three favorite platforms to gain brand awareness for businesses. The other two being TikTok and Pinterest, but Instagram is by far the platform I’ve had the most experience with. So, it will come as no surprise that I really resonated with the topics covered in Chapter 5 seeing as it was completely dedicated to Instagram.
In specific, I found the section covering Instagram content strategy to be extra interesting and I really enjoyed reading through it. One of the top strategies the text offers is utilizing Instagram stories and live video. I completely agree with this strategy and have even found that some of the accounts that receive the highest engagement rates make a point to post to stories at least once a day. So, I can definitely see why this strategy is a worthy mention for the contents of this chapter. Also, making the most of live video, such as through hosting IG lives and getting that real-time interaction with an audience, is another piece of this strategy. Which leads into the next tip offered within the text, leverage IGTV. I often see accounts utilize the IG live function and then later upload them as an IGTV, which I think is a great way to cover both of those bases and really make content multi-purpose. I absolutely agree that IGTV can be a huge asset when it comes to creating content that engages an audience. In my opinion, this feature helps Instagram users by giving them a chance to experiment with content and with posting video content without having to worry too much about time limits.
To continue, making the most out of the social media world by utilizing influencers is another strategy mentioned within this chapter. We all know that influencers have really taken the world by storm and continue to grow in importance when it comes to reaching certain audiences. So, it makes sense that this would be one of the methods that would boost your content strategy. As pointed out by the text, influencers can help brands reach new audiences and drive engagement. I have definitely seen these tactics work for many brands, as I’m sure we all have.
Overall, this chapter covered some great material and was very enjoyable to read through. I loved learning about all the strategies that go into being successful on Instagram.
