Critical Analysis – Chapter 6

Twitter has been a part of most of our lives for quite some time. So, it’s only natural that our course reading cover Twitter and the potential behind the platform. I particularly enjoyed reading about how to optimize content strategy on Twitter to ensure your account is performing well.

I found it interesting that the text points out how Twitter pushes content that focuses more on sparking conversation rather than focusing on promotion. Mainly because the text offered similar advice for Instagram content, most content strategies for Instagram highlight the importance valuable content rather than promotional content. Seeing the similarities in suggested content strategy for both of these platforms is cool to see and sparks the thought that this must be a common trend across all social media platforms.

Twitter lists are another aspect I found to be interesting. These lists allow businesses to curate posts from customers and influencers. Which I think is a feature that sets Twitter apart from other social media platforms within the digital world. I really like that these lists can be used to monitor and build influencer-brand relationships as well as engagement. Also, the text points out these lists can be used to monitor and interact with customers. In my opinion, both of these strategies are great ways for businesses to use the lists feature and improve relationships along with engagement.

Overall, content strategy is one of my favorite things to learn about when it comes to social media. So, I enjoyed reading about Twitter and specifically about how to create an optimal content strategy for this platform. It was definitely interesting to see some cross over between suggested strategy across multiple platforms. I look forward to reading the next chapter!

  1. Hey Jasmyn good blog! If we're being honest, personally don't like using Twitter when it comes to promoting business. I like instagram more than twitter simply because instgram's tools and analytics are much better than Twitter but overall i agree with everything you stated, especially about the content category that you explained about. Great work!
