As many of us know, influencer have taken over the online world. I personally, as I’m sure most of you do as well, see influencers on every social media platform. I’ve even noticed influencers crossing over into the film and music industry. For example, Addison Rae recently starred in a Netflix original movie called He’s All That. In addition, Bella Porch built her fame on TikTok and then made her move into the music industry. While most influencers serve as a source of entertainment for the average social media user, these influencers also present many opportunities for businesses and brands.
This chapter in specific dives into the ins and outs of influencer marketing. However, I want to hone in specifically on the section that covers the benefits of influencer marketing with social media. Obviously, as influencers continue to gain prevalence in many aspects of our lives, the potential for a business to profit from collaborating with influencers grows as well. The book mentions several benefits of influencer marketing. For example, increased credibility comes with these partnerships since influencers have already earned the trust of their followers. Being able to effectively reach a target market is another benefit that was mentioned. Businesses are able to find influencers that share commonality with their brand, which gives them access to the perfect target market for their service or product. In addition, increased exposure and brand awareness are also benefits of marketing with influencers. Since influencers have already built up a large audience, it is smart for businesses to utilize that direct pathway to consumers. These are just a few of the benefits that comes from influencer marketing on social media.
Overall, I’m a huge proponent for influencer marketing as I believe it is one of the best ways for brands to reach their target markets in today’s world. This chapter covered a lot of great aspects of influencer marketing on social media, which I really enjoyed reading about and feel like I learned a lot from.
