Weekly Roundup - Dead Week

Even though it is very early on in the week, I feel like it should already be Friday. Essentially, most of the biggest milestones of my week occurred in just the first couple of days. Since this will be my last personal blog post for this class, I wanted to use this post to cover a quick overview of what my week has been like so far. I know with being in the midst of the end of the semester we are all going through a whirlwind of last minutes assignments, projects and a rollercoaster of emotions. For me this was exactly what made up the past two days.

On Monday, I spent most of the day finishing up my final capstone paper and presentation. My team and I had worked so hard over the semester on this entire project, so it was nice to finally get it wrapped up. The only thing left was to actually practice our presentation. So, on Monday evening my group and I spent 3 hours making sure I presentation was perfected and that we each felt confident in presenting our respective parts. Later that evening is when the nerves really set in. I’m personally terrible at presenting and my anxiety always kicks in in the hours leading up to a presentation. So, I spent most of Monday night and early Tuesday morning overthinking and stressing over the presentation. However, once the time came around, I was still just as nervous, but I was so ready to finally get it over with. Thankfully, our presentation went pretty well, and we received a lot of good feedback from our clients.

After finishing up our capstone on Tuesday, my group and I celebrated with a few drinks and a game of pool at John and Toni’s. It was super fun to get to celebrate our hard work and extreme relief that came with finishing up the semester. Then on Wednesday one of my roommates finished up her capstone presentation, so we decided to celebrate again with some homemade margaritas. While the first half of this week was hectic and filled with stress it was thankfully followed by relief and joyful celebration. Overall, I am so happy to be so close to the end of this semester and I wish each of you a successful, stress-free rest of your semester! We’re in the home stretch!
